Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

AVER, LLC is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer with career growth aspirations to add to its existing team in Washington, DC.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Data modeling and BI Reporting
  • Develop technical documentation (system requirements, functional/detailed design, etc)
  • Support the development of reports/dashboards using Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE, formerly Siebel Analytics)
  • Work closely with the business analysts to design/develop look/feel of reports
  • Work with the engineering group to ensure functional requirements are met


  • BA/BS in a Computer Science/Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics or related field
  • 10+ years of data analysis and/or reporting experience using a BI tool
  • Ability to create reports using BI publisher and or Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services
  • Experience with Data warehouse design and development including logical and physical data modeling, mapping data elements from various data sources and loading DW objects including dimensions, hierarchies, fact tables, and aggregates, building the Reporting Metadata layer, as well as the building the reports
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies
  • Able to demonstrate strong experience writing SQL
  • Able to demonstrate strong experience with database based applications
  • Experience with documenting the reporting and analysis specifications
  • Able to demonstrate high level of written and oral presentation skills and proven client-interaction skills
  • Thinks creatively and demonstrate the ability to work independently on a complex task with little direction, supervision, and management oversight
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, and able to work alone or in groups
  • Must successfully complete a stringent Background Investigation and obtain the required Government Security (Active government clearance is a plus – U.S. Citizenship is a requirement)
  • Must be located in the DC Metro Area and able to work on customer site within 2 weeks of accepting an offer.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

  • Possess a professional background focused on more than just the presentation layer of the OBIEE toolset
  • Prior experience directly supporting the reporting aspects of design, development, integration and customization of enterprise BI applications
  • Knowledge of or experience with data analysis, mapping, management, storage.
